1st Half

Despite Fishponds only having 6 players for this game they started well forcing a good save from the Fry’s keeper Jake Woolley. Again the home side forced Fry Club on the back foot with a shot just wide of goal. Fry’s Club came back at Fishponds with a run down the left wing from Jack Dancey with a neat pass on to Mickey Parsons who crossed for Perry May to coolly net the first for Fry’s, 0-1. Fishponds responded with some good running against Fry’s but could not find the skill to beat defenders Jonathan Shorland and Joel Rowbottom. Fry’s came straight back at the home side with a shot from Dancey forcing a save from the Fishponds keeper. Once again Fishponds forced the play straight back in the Fry’s half giving the away team very little possession despite being a player down. Fry Club then gained a throw, in the Fishponds half that was taken by Parsons who curled in an excellent shot from a return pass from his throw-giving the home keeper no chance of saving, 0-2.

2nd Half

Fry Club started this half with a bit more bite with Dancey running down the left flank and shooting wide of the goal. With Fishponds coming straight back at Fry’s, the away side won the ball and a storming run from May crossing for Charlie Goodwin to shoot and force a save from the home keeper. Once again Fishponds came straight back at Fry’s who were stopped with a bruising challenge from Shorland to give away a free kick. With a powerful shot from the kick Fry’s keeper Jake woolley pulled off a top drawer save to deny Fishponds a second half goal. Fishponds kept the ball in the Fry’s half from the goal kick with a strong run at goal forcing two corner kicks with no outcome. With the Fry’s defence forced to work hard to gain possession a long ball from Goodwin gave Fry’s sub Ben Watt a chance in front of goal with his shot going just wide. With Fishponds pressing Fry Club to the limit Fry’s were unable to put another goal past the six players of Fishponds.

1st Half

Fry Club started this game with an attacking run from midfielder Nathan Munford forcing a save from the home keeper. With the away side not letting up a hard tackle from Corey Reid winning the ball and passing to Munford who put in a good cross with Fry’s unable to convert. With no reply from the home side Kyle Morris ran through the middle of the park with a shot coming back off the post and the rebound was put wide. Morris’s persistence paid off when Fishponds failed to clear the ball and he shot from close range giving the keeper little chance, 0-1. Fishponds came back strong at Fry’s but were stopped in their tracks with tackles from Fry Clubs Ben Harper and Corey Reid, leaving keeper Jovi Belcher little to do.

2nd Half

The second half saw Fry Club start well with a good run down the middle of the pitch from Munford who shot with a cracking save from the Fishponds keeper. With Fishponds unable to clear the ball a cross from Harper was met with an attempt from Daniel Kendall that went wide. The home side came straight back at Fry’s with a shot at goal forcing a save from keeper Aaron Loughlin. A storming run from Morris who passed to Munford gave the Fishponds keeper plenty to do with another good save. With Fry Club winning two corners and unable to convert, Fishponds came back at them with a good effort forcing a save from Fry’s keeper Loughlin. With Fry’s struggling to gain possession Loughlin was forced to make another good save from a close range shot. With a quick ball out from the keeper and the ball threaded up through midfield, a pinpoint cross from Munford was met by Kendall who slotted home after several similar attempts. Fishponds came back strong at Fry’s but were halted several times with saves from Loughlin. Equally the Fishponds keeper had an outstanding game with his dynamic saves keeping the score at 0-2 to see out the game.
